Why volunteer to participate in research? People volunteer to participate in research studies for a variety of reasons, among them access to experimental treatments and drugs; and a commitment to contributing to the effort to find answers to important questions.
Research does make a difference. HIV research is dynamic, and subject to rapid change. Study participants can feel proud to be a part of this process: patient safety and the development of better treatments are impacted daily. Developments in treatment for HIV are being monitored and integrated into treatment decisions at a fast pace.
